Kia India has taken the wraps off its much-anticipated Carens Clavis, a more rugged and feature-loaded version of the popular Carens MPV. Unveiled today, the Carens Clavis aims to blend premium styling with advanced safety and technology, catering to both urban families and adventurous spirits alike.
Bookings for the Carens Clavis are now officially open, with a token amount of ₹25,000. Interested buyers can secure their spot either through Kia’s official website or at authorized dealerships across the country. While the official prices will be disclosed next month, the Clavis is expected to fall in the ₹11–21 lakh (ex-showroom) range.

A Bolder Face, A Smarter Cabin
The Carens Clavis sports an evolved exterior design language. A sleeker, more closed-off grille flanked by three-pod LED headlamps, a chunky front bumper with faux silver skid plates, and 17-inch dual-tone alloys give it a tough yet elegant presence. At the rear, a full-width LED light bar adds to its visual drama.
Inside, the Clavis presents a premium dual-tone navy and beige interior, available in 6- and 7-seater layouts. Kia has focused on tech-forward enhancements, including two 12.3-inch screens — one for infotainment and the other serving as a digital instrument cluster. Other luxury touches include ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and a powered driver seat.
Safety Takes Center Stage
In a first for the Carens line-up, the Clavis introduces Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). Features include lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot detection, and forward collision avoidance. These are complemented by standard safety provisions like six airbags, ESC, TPMS, rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera for complete situational awareness.
Engine Options to Suit Every Driver
The Clavis will come with the familiar set of Kia’s refined engine options:
- A 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine (115 PS/144 Nm)
- A 1.5L turbo-petrol (160 PS/253 Nm)
- A 1.5L diesel unit (116 PS/250 Nm)
Depending on the variant, these engines will be mated to a 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, 6-speed torque converter automatic, or a 7-speed DCT.
Trim Levels and Customization
The Clavis will be offered in seven trims: HTE, HTE(O), HTK, HTK+, HTK+(O), HTX, and HTX+. Buyers can choose from eight monotone exterior shades, including Imperial Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Gray, and a striking new Pewter Olive.
What’s Next?
With bookings now open, Kia is expected to begin deliveries soon after the official pricing announcement in June. The Clavis is poised to compete with the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, Maruti Suzuki XL6, and Mahindra XUV700 in the premium MPV segment.
As Kia continues to expand its portfolio in India, the Carens Clavis marks a significant step in making its family vehicles more aspirational, connected, and safe.
