As Oyo prepares for its much-anticipated IPO, the hospitality tech company is eyeing a strategic overhaul, beginning with the rebranding of its parent firm, Oravel Stays Ltd. The move signals a broader shift in Oyo’s positioning—from budget accommodations to a more premium and experience-driven hospitality offering.
According to industry insiders, the renaming initiative is part of Oyo’s effort to align its corporate identity with its evolving brand philosophy. Over the past year, the company has increasingly invested in upscale segments, with its Palette brand at the center of this transformation. These resorts, curated under a luxury label, reflect Oyo’s focus on delivering high-quality stays that appeal to a more discerning customer base.

Oyo currently operates several Palette properties in cities such as Jaipur, Hyderabad, and Mumbai, and aims to expand this number to over 20 by the end of the year. Unlike its traditional franchise model, these hotels are self-operated, giving Oyo direct oversight on service standards and guest experiences—an important shift as it targets the premium segment.
The timing of the proposed name change also coincides with Oyo’s third attempt to go public. The company is reportedly in the process of engaging investment banks and advisors to manage the IPO, with market sources suggesting it could seek a valuation between $5 billion and $7 billion. Oyo previously postponed earlier IPO plans due to market conditions and internal restructuring.
Founder and Group CEO Ritesh Agarwal has been leading the charge toward a reimagined Oyo—one that is not just scalable but also sustainable in terms of brand value and customer trust. Recent leadership changes within the company, including promotions across strategic roles, point to a renewed focus on operational efficiency and international expansion.
While the company has yet to make an official announcement regarding the name change, sources close to the matter say it could be a pivotal part of its IPO narrative—an effort to showcase Oyo as a mature, future-ready brand.
If approved, the renaming of Oravel Stays could mark a symbolic milestone for the company—one that reflects not just where Oyo has come from, but where it’s heading.
